Emmerdale congratulates Corrie on 60th anniversary in touching new video

The cast of Emmerdale have congratulated Coronation Street on its 60th anniversary in a touching new video.

Several cast members of Emmerdale took part in a heartwarming clip to wish the cobbles-set serial drama a happy 60th, ahead of its huge milestone in December.

Actor Reece Dinsale — who currently portrays Paul Ashdale on Emmerdale, but previously played Joe McIntyre on Corrie — kicked things off, saying: ‘Reece Dinsdale here just wishing you lot a very happy birthday.

‘So proud to have played just a tiny tiny little part in your story.’

Rhona Goskirk actress Zoe Henry said: ‘Happy 60th Corrie. Happy diamond celebration. You don’t look a day over 21, honestly. Thank you also for giving me my very first job out of drama school. That was about 60 years ago as well!

Several other cast members featured in the clip, including Amy Walsh (Tracy Metcalfe), Rebecca Sarker (Manpreet Sharma), Lisa Riley (Mandy Dingle), Olivia Bromley (Dawn Taylor) and Rosie Bentham (Gabby Thomas).

The Emmerdale cast are the latest to congratulate Coronation Street with a special video message, after Joanna Lumley kicked things off with a message of her own.

A spokesperson for the show said: ‘With 60 days to go until December 9th, we’ll be celebrating each day via the soap’s official social media channels with a special message from famous fans, charities, cast members and, of course, the viewers.’

The cast of Neighbours also delivered a heart-warming video message to Corrie ahead of their 60th.
