EastEnders viewers rumble music clue that gives away major Phil Mitchell murder twist
EastEnders viewers have had their detective hats on as they continue to try to piece together clues given in the soap after explosive flashforward scenes aired earlier this week.
In the moments that teased what fans can expect this Christmas, six of Walford’s much loved matriarchs, Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) are faced with a dead body at the Queen Vic.
Not much was said between the six of them, but Sharon – who was wearing a wedding dress – leant over the body and confirmed he was dead.
Now fans think they may have worked out who Sharon was marrying, and who the dead man on the floor was.
In the episodes that have followed since Monday’s first ever flashforward, viewers have been keeping their eye on the cast – Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in particular.
As Sharon confirmed the man on the floor was dead, the cufflinks of the man’s jacket were shown briefly.
Fans are now convinced that they’ve since seen Phil wearing such cufflinks, sparking them to believe he’s the dead man on the floor.
Doubling down on this theory, Phil, who was previously married to Sharon, was recently sat chatting to his fiancee Kat Slater as Little Mix’s hit track Shout Out To My Ex blared in the background.
Sharing their thoughts on Twitter, one fan wrote: “Why do I feel like they were hinting at Phil & Kat splitting up & a Sharon & Phil reunion? Shout Out To My Ex playing in the background when Phil & Kat were bickering in the cab office & Phil & Sharon working together… could Sharon be marrying Phil at Christmas?”
Noting Phil’s cufflinks, another eagle-eyed EastEnders fan suggested earlier this week: “#eastenders tonight: we’ve seen Phil wear the cufflinks, so it’s Phil or he loans them out. Sharon in a wedding dress- Phil could’ve got back with her & kept the wedding date when he was supposed to marry Kat, or maybe differences settled & it’s double wedding w/ Sharon & Keanu?”
“Considering Kat & Phil have literally just set Christmas as their new Wedding Date shouldn't it be her in the white dress? Sharon wouldn't actually go so far as to totally steal her big day after everything with Phil surely?” questioned another.
Noting that Sharon and Phil kissed on his original wedding day to Kat, someone else said: “#EastEnders Is Sharon set to marry Keanu later in the year? Or will she end up marrying Phil. Think back to Kat and Phil's original wedding and when Sharon and Phil kissed each other in the empty church could that have been a sign of what is to come?”
Fans also think Phil may be Sharon's future groom after spotting a photo of Lola on the bar.
