EastEnders viewers rip into Phil Mitchell blunder during 'impossible' arcade scene

FANS of the BBC soap were left astonished when infamous EastEnders bad boy won a prize in a claw machine.

On the run after kidnapping his son Raymond, the hardman attempted to distract him in a scene branded "impossible" on Monday, January 3, 2022.

Phil (played by Steve McFadden) fled with Raymond (Michael Jose Pomares Clixte) after his ex-lover Denise told him he was not allowed to see their son until after the New Year.

In an attempt to distract the young boy, Phil wins him a dinosaur teddy bear in an arcade claw machine on the first try.

Angry and frustrated EastEnders fans mocked took to social media to mock the scene, considering it to be unrealistic, putting the BBC One show on blast.

"EastEnders has now reached a point where it is beyond realism. Nobody on earth has ever gotten a toy out of those machines", commented one viewer.

"No way would Phil be able to get that dinosaur in the grabbing machine on first attempt. Most are nearly impossible. Pure science fiction", added another.

A third viewer claimed that EastEnders is "really entering the realms of fantasy."

"Nobody wins that easily on a grabber machine."

Much like claw machines outside of Albert Square, Phil's run alongside Raymond is far from easy.

As Denise talked to the police about his involvement in Vincent's death, a grassed-on Phil followed advice from Sharon and ended 2021 on the run with his son Raymond.

And it does not seem he is ready to face the music as he is even planning to get himself and Raymond new identities.

However, Phil was unaware that the police was in Walford because of the bomb in the Arghee Bhajee.

Phil and Raymond are staying at a caravan park, while Denise is out of her mind with worry.

Denise made the call to the authorities despite Sharon reminding her that she could face her own legal trouble.

This is because Raymond's adoption process has yet to be completed.

Making the choice to turn Phil into the police, Denise could be set for a series of dangerous consequences.

Could her call lead the authorities to close in on Phil? Or could Vincent's widow, Kim Fox-Hubbard, take care of the notorious gangster herself?
