EastEnders star Charlie Brooks has confirmed that her returning character Janine Butcher will have a "one night stand" upon her return to Walford.

As previously revealed, Janine will make her dramatic and long-awaited return to the BBC One soap on Monday, September 6.

Appearing on today's episode (September 1) of This Morning, Charlie teased that the character will "spend one night with somebody" upon her initial return.

She also suggested the scene will air pretty shortly after her arrival back to Albert Square

Of Janine's return, presenter Alison Hammond asked: "[Are] there going to be any romances on the cards for our Janine?"

Charlie teasingly replied: "We'll have to wait and see.

"I think Janine's biggest job would have to be finding love within herself before she can love anyone else but it will be interesting to see who she rubs up against in the square."

Going on to confirm the one night stand, she added: "There is one night that she spends with somebody when she first comes back in but I can't say too much more about that."

During the programme, Charlie also discussed Janine's reunion with her daughter Scarlett.

Scarlett rocked up in Walford last month, when Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) finally discovered who her son Tommy Moon had been messaging with online.

She is the daughter of Janine and the late Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd), who Janine murdered herself.

Asked what fans can expect from her forthcoming storyline, Charlie said: "What can I tell you? High drama.

"Where Janine goes chaos and drama usually follows."

She added: "She's good at being bad, isn't she?

"So let's say we can expect a little more of that and you know, also exploring who she is kind of underneath that and I think it will be interesting to see how she behaves as a mother.

"There's a big fire that happens, which I can't say too much about when I first come back."

EastEnders airs on BBC One.
