Sharon Mitchell (played by Letitia Dean) has been going through every mother’s worst nightmare over the last few months after the tragic death of Denny Rickman (Bleu Landau). Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) has been trying to buy the Queen Vic as a tribute to Denny, but a lack of money and an explosive argument with Sharon last week has viewers believing it could be someone else who buys the popular EastEnders pub. And that person could well be the man responsible for Denny’s death himself, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).

Denny was killed after Ian found out the young boy had been responsible for an attack on his son Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell).

Despite trying to save Denny after locking him below deck at the Queen Vic party, at the last minute, the young boy drowned just as Sharon gave birth to Kayden.

Ever since Denny’s tragic death, Ian has been trying to conceal his secret and has even managed to get closer to Sharon in the process – being her shoulder to cry on.

On the other side of the tale is Phil, who was also partially responsible for the young boy’s death, having caused the boat to crash in the first place.

Sharon seemed to quickly forgive Phil and the two made up, with the Albert Square hardman promising to buy the Queen Vic to not only make Sharon feel like she has a familiar home, but also in memory of Denny.

Over the last couple of weeks, Phil has struggled to get the money he needs in order to sign on the dotted line and take Mick (Danny Dyer) and Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) pub once and for all.

However, it seems the owner of the pub is set to be revealed in tomorrow’s episode, the last of the regular episodes before transmission of new content pauses.

Could it actually be Ian who buys the pub?

Last week Phil gave Sharon an unreasonable ultimatum and asked her to choose between him and her baby son.

The two got into a blazing row, and Phil blamed Sharon’s affair with Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) last year as the reason Denny was dead.

Tonight, Sharon was kicked out, with the new mum clearly struggling after demanding her son back from Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley), Ian was on hand once again.

As she struggled to get a nappy bag together, Ian asked if he could help.

Sharon said: “I’ve lost everything Ian. Phil knows what the Vic means to me, it’s why he is doing this.

“He knows it’s where I think of mum and dad. It’s the only place I have ever thought of as home. It was going to be our home.”

According to official soap spoilers for tomorrow night’s episode, BBC viewers will see Linda stand her ground and tell Mick she refuses to let Phil buy the pub after kicking Sharon out onto the streets once again.

A dramatic showdown will commence and the owner will finally be revealed.

Could Ian buy the pub for Sharon as a way to say sorry about killing her son, without ever revealing what he has done?

Ian may think that if Sharon has the pub all to herself once and for all, that even if she did find out, then she couldn’t be angry.

Could Ian’s guilt be bigger than his fear of Phil’s revenge for undermining and embarrassing him in such a way?

With so much at stake for Sharon, Phil, and Ian, who will be the last one standing in the door of the infamous Queen Vic?

EastEnders airs on BBC One Mondays at 8pm and Tuesdays at 7.30pm.
