EastEnders spoiler pictures see first look at Maisie Smith’s BBC soap return

EastEnders has revealed a first look at Maisie Smith’s return to the BBC soap, just three months after she left Albert Square.

The 20 year old actress is making a brief comeback to the show, and stepping back into the shoes of her alter-ego Tiffany Butcher to be part of her co-star Zack Morris’ exit storyline.

Maisie, who plays Tiffany, left Albert Square in December to start a new life in Germany with her brother, Liam Butcher (Alfie Deegan), leaving behind her estranged husband Keegan Butcher Baker (Zack Morris).

Tiffany’s exit led fans to believe that things were over between her and her estranged husband, Keegan – but it seems there is more to come for the on-off couple in her one episode cameo.

Two new spoiler pictures from the upcoming episode, which will air on March 17, have given fans a hint at the storyline where Tiffany is called back to Walford to support her ex.

Keegan will be seen struggling after he blames himself when Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) crimes to his late sister, Chantelle, are exposed.

In the first of two new images, Tiffany is sat besides an emotional Keegan on the famous Arthur’s bench and takes his hand to show her support.

The second shows the pair having an emotional heart to heart as Maisie looks concerned for her ex.

It’s unclear whether this traumatic time will help them heal their own relationship that had a dramatic end.

The couple’s marriage broke down after Keegan cheated on Tiff with Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) on the show last year.

At the time, Liam intervened from letting the couple reconcile their relationship and tell each other their true feelings.

However, it seems that this final episode might give the young couple to address their past and move forward.

This comes after Zack, who stars as Keegan, announced his decision to follow in Maisie's footsteps and leave the soap.

In an interview with Digital Spy, he said: "After five beautiful years on this incredible show, I have made the tough decision to leave Walford and give Keegan Butcher-Baker some well-earned rest."

"This show has quite frankly changed my life for the better. It will always hold a real loving place in my heart."
