EastEnders fans threaten to boycott the soap after Dot’s horrifying confession
EastEnders’ viewers are threatening to boycott the soap after Dot Branning revealed she is DYING.
The Walford legend, who has only just returned from Ireland, made a visit to her doctor after having some "funny turns".
Dot’s comeback quickly turned into tragedy as grandson Jack Branning found her in a sorry state stroking her cat.
Realising something was seriously wrong, Jack started asking Dot about her problems but she ran off to the kitchen.
Eventually Dorothy confessed that she had suffered from "dizziness", but the bombshells didn’t stop there.
Reciting a Bible verse, she said: "For everything there is a season, a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to dig up that which has been planted."
Dot admitted she had been thinking of her dead loved ones – husband Jim, son Nick and granddaughter Abi.
Finally, she confessed: "You see, Jack, I’m dying. And I’ve come back here to say my goodbyes."
Shocked EastEnders viewers took to Twitter in a furious rage as they threatened to switch off.
One viewer said: "How dareeeeee they kill Dot off. Nah Eastenders have gone mad"
Another added: "I’m sorry, this can’t be real?! Dot is iconic in the world of TV. Not just #eastenders or soap!"
A third said: "If Dot dies …. I swear I will NEVER ever watch #Eastenders again and that’s a promise!! The matriarch of this soap, they simply can’t get rid of her or June Brown!!!!"
Tuesday night’s episode only compounded viewers’ fears, as they had already predicted she may not make it to Christmas.
Sonia gave her grandma a quick health check and explained that her heart rate was too high.
Worried Sonia said she should go to the doctors as it was "better to be safe than sorry".
Dot’s saviour could come in the form of old friend Dr Harold Legg when he returns this week.
*EastEnders continues on Tuesday on BBC One at 8.00pm
