Eamonn Holmes slams This Morning producers for nonsense sauce list in fiery rant
This Morning's co-hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford slam producers for the "ridiculous" list of the nation's favourite top 10 condiments, having not heard of some of the sauces on there.
Ruth started off the segment by trying to pronounce sriracha, which didn't come out quite right, despite the presenter's best efforts.
Eamonn then went on to discuss the rest of the list, claiming to never have heard of chimichurri, wasabi or harissa.
The 61-year-old continued to argue that vinegar should have been included on the list and that it must have been "made-up".
After mispronouncing sriracha, Ruth went on to number two on the list – ketchup – but Eamonn interjected to say that the list was missing something.
Eamonn said: "The main condiment that's not there, for me, is vinegar."
He went on: "It's interesting, us, who are real people here, have never heard of 'scratchyatchy' or 'waseebi', what's that?
Beverley Turner corrected Eamonn to say: "Wasabi" but Eamonn looking disgruntled then asked, "what's that about?"
He continued: "And what is this chimchimmerychoo?"
"It's a completely made-up list, where's vinegar on that list. It's a stupid list then."
"Find out who made that list, it's gotta be some 'siriatchy' company."
This comes after Beverley Turner took a swipe at Meghan Markle on the show for being "unfunny" and for coming across as "hammy" during her 40th birthday video with actress Melissa McCarthy.
The broadcaster made the dig at the royal during Thursday's episode of This Morning, where she appeared alongside Ruth Langsford, Eamonn Holmes and Matthew Wright.
The American actress released the video to celebrate her 40th birthday and starred in it alongside fellow starlet Melissa McCarthy, who brought a comical take.
Meghan explains to Melissa how, for her birthday, she’s asking 40 women to donate 40 minutes of their time to help mentor a woman who is going back to work after the pandemic
Beverly jibed: "I was personally surprised that she was 40 because in many ways so much of what she says and does seems like somebody with much less wisdom.
"And also we realised that she's just not very funny, it just wasn't funny at all."
She continued: "I know this idea when she takes the mickey out of herself, it's quite self-deprecating under the tree but it's just hammy and it misses the mark."
