Doctor Who and her companions visit an alien planet in episode two 'The Ghost Monument'

After the exciting series opener of Doctor Who – ‘The Woman Who Fell to Earth’ – fans were treated to two exciting trailers of things to come.

One, was to introduce a whole host of guest stars who will be appearing throughout the series, and the other is for episode two, titled ‘The Ghost Monument’.

The Doctor – the fantastic Jodie Whittaker – along with her three companions Ryan Sinclair (Tosin Cole), Yasmin Khan (Mandip Gill) and Graham O’Brien (Bradley Walsh) have found themselves on an alien planet.

There’s fighting, guest stars and a beautiful moment right at the end where The Doctor might be getting a glimpse of the Tardis – she certainly looked in awe – but that’s just a guess.

The first episode was a success, with viewers loving Whittaker in the role, calling her “perfect”, and if you want to know what Digital Spy thought about it, click here.

There is much more to come too, with guest stars aplenty announced from the series trailer, including the previously-announced Alan Cumming, Lee Mack and Shaun Dooley.

Surprise additions include Sex and the City‘s Mr Big himself, Chris Noth, former Coronation Street actress Shobna Gulati, and Broadchurch‘s Julie Hesmondhalgh.

Doctor Who returns with episode two – ‘The Ghost Monument’ – next Sunday, October 14 on BBC One.
