Davina McCall’s new dating show pairs hopefuls who speak different languages
Davina McCall has teased the trailer for Channel 4's newest dating series, The Language of Love, and reveals what sets it apart from other dating shows.
She took to her Instagram and teased the saucy new dating show's trailer to her 1.4 million followers.
In the drama-filled video teaser, viewers will be guaranteed a whole load of drama, entertainment, romance, and a handful of chaos.
Brit and Spaniard singletons will venture to the beautiful Andalusia country estate in a bid to find love – despite being unable to speak each other's languages.
On her Instagram post, she captioned the video: "Yesssss !!! Language Of Love BRAND NEW SHOW starts Tuesday, January 4, 10pm @channel4."
She added: "A group of singletons pairing up in dreamy Andalusia … but none of them speak the same language !!!! Lust and arguments with occasional subtitles … who knew the word "fit" in English sounds like the word for ugly in Spanish "
#LanguageOfLove…@rickymerino u r my dream co-host … thank u for educating me x"
For the show, which will undoubtedly require subtitles, Davina co-presents with the Spanish-born hunk and singer Rickey Merino who has over 240k followers on Instagram.
With the hotly anticipated Channel 4 series sounding similar to the likes of ITV's Love Island, the former Big Brother presenter has already shot down any comparisons.
Talking about the new dating show, she said: "I think the most important thing to say is that this show is surprising in that it's different from so many other dating shows in a lot of ways".
She added: "Firstly, the contestants are different from the usual types of contestants you would find on a dating show. They are all invested in finding love.
The Channel 4 show will see Brits and Spaniards partner up and overcome the language and cultural barriers to finding love.
Davina revealed that the new show will deliver in making viewers chuckle, as she ensured that the singletons are on the show to find true love.
She said: "There's no cash prize to be won. There's no huge holiday off anywhere. The prize is love. So they're incentivised to find love and not fame and success."
"The other thing is, because of the cultural differences, it's so flipping funny. It's so unexpectedly hilarious at times. "
Davina is currently on the celebrity guessing panel for BBC's The Masked Singer, where she's joined by Rita Ora, Mo Gillingham, and Jonathon Ross in the bizarre celebrity-singing competition.
The Language Of Love is on Channel 4 at 10pm on January 4.
