Dan Walker praises ‘beautiful’ words from ex Strictly partner Nadiya Bychkova

Channel 5 host Dan Walker has issued a statement of support to both Matt Goss and Nadiya Bychkova.

The pair were sadly booted off Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday (October 16) after a dance off – making them the third couple to leave the competition after failing to win over the public.

Despite Matt's exit fans were quick to share their support for the star – and Dan was one of the many who shared his enjoyment of watching him on screen.

He wrote on Twitter: "I thought he was great to watch and I'll miss him.

"That is how to exit with real class and style, a true gentleman. Beautiful words from Nadiya too."

After Matt shared his gratitude towards Nadiya the professional dancer said: "Well, first, I'm so grateful that I got to teach and to dance with a music icon.

"But more important is I got the privilege to get to know Matt for who you really are. Not many people know you."

Matt thanked his partner and the show for helping him "come out of his shell" and declared it an "extraordinary experience".

He added: "Thank you judges, for your candour. And you've helped me in many ways, my posture, Anton I'm more aware of it. And this lovely lady beside me, world champion and her patience. I just, I'm very honoured to have danced with you."

Matt shared an extra shout out to his fellow contestants as he said: "And everyone that's going to stay in, I love you guys, and smash it guys. Smash it."

After Matt's exit Nadiya shared a sweet clip of the duo as she shared a comment he made while they watched Kym Marsh in the dance off.

She said: "We were stood there, watching Kym dancing in the dance off and he was saying, 'as a gentleman, I can't compete with a lady, Kym Marsh, with a friend'.

"He loved and cares about each and everyone there. It was difficult to compete for him, because he didn't want anyone to leave the competition."

Nadiya added: "He is a real gentleman and more. I couldn't be more proud of you partner. And I feel so lucky now I have a friend like you in this world."
