Coronation Street’s Colson Smith’s running injury leaves him ‘crying at night’
Colson Smith has revealed he’s been left ‘crying at night’ after injuring his foot in a running accident over Christmas.
The Coronation Street star, 21, who plays Craig Tinker on the show, managed to inure himself while on a run on Christmas Day.
He revealed that he’s been struggling to get an appointment with a physiotherapist due to the holidays and tier four restrictions and has been in a lot of pain.
He said on the Sofa Cinema Club podcast: ‘It’s at the point where I’m crying at night now.
‘I’ve rang about 14 physios today and none of them are open because it’s Christmas.’
The actor has been so committed to his healthy lifestyle, which has seen him lose 10 stone in the course of the past year, that he didn’t want to let his exercise regime slip over the Christmas period.
He revealed: I ran on Christmas Day, which might not have been the smartest move in hindsight.
‘It’s pain you can cope with and then it’s not pain you can cope with. It’s weird. It just isn’t right. It’s annoying, and it’s really, really frustrating.’
Colson’s exercise regime was sparked by his character on Corrie, a police officer, taking up running after finding he was out of breath chasing shoplifters.
As well as hurting himself over Christmas, Colson recently revealed another disastrous occurrence which had to do with his bins.
The actor confessed that his neighbours were mad about someone messing up the recycling every week – which turned out to be him.
He revealed: ‘Now the recycling bins have been locked down so you can only put it in through the little post box, and there’s a post on Facebook of somebody ranting about the “inconsiderate a**e that’s ruined it for everyone else”. That’s me.’
