After Corrie boss Iain Macleod teased a heartbreaking and tragic story for Weatherfield's teens, fans are terrified Corey will discover Asha and Nina together and violently attack them.

One wrote: "Corey I'm pretty sure will be at the centre of the teen story as a central antagonist.

"I think that he'll wage a hate campaign against Nina, targets her in a hate crime and her new love interest will lose their life in the process."

Last night Corey treated Asha like a dog for wearing a choker Nina bought her.

The bully – who is played by actor Maximus Evans in the ITV soap – belittled his girlfriend for the gift she received and forced her to remove it.

Asha was overjoyed by Nina’s gift, but when Corey saw it he began mocking her.

He said: “Yeah it’s pretty cool if you’ve got four legs and like sniffing your mate’s crotch.

“You don’t want to be mistaken for a dog, do you? I hate dogs.”

Then grabbing some of Asha’s birthday cake her crumbled it in front of her and threw it at her saying: “Here doggy doggy.”

“Take it off,” he insisted, before saying: “Look I swear to you I’ve got something much better.”

As she hesitated, he shouted: “Do you want me to… or?”

Reluctantly Asha removed the choker, but the scene hadn’t escaped Yasmeen’s watchful eye.

And when Corey left, she made sure to speak to Asha.

“I don’t know if this is my place to say but if I don’t say anything…” she said trying to get through to Asha.

“He just doesn’t seem like he’s being very kind. Perhaps I’m getting the wrong end of the stick. He didn’t make you take off that choker, did he?”

Viewers were terrified for Asha especially after she later ended things with Corey when he tried to force her to not wear the choker.

One wrote: "Oh god not another abusive relationship on #Corrie – dunno if I can go through another."

A second said: "I am glad #Corrie is highlighting coercive relationships among young people as they are more common than people realise. Asha needs to throw Corey in the dumpster!"

Another added: "Corey grooming her."
