Bargain Hunt continues to air on BBC One and the escapist game show will see the red and blue teams compete to make the biggest profit. In recent years the presenting role has been split between a number of stars, including Charlie Ross. Fans are keen to find out more about who he is married to.

Who is Charlie Ross married to?

Charlie Ross presents today’s (December 31) episode of Bargain Hunt from Shrewsbury, where Tim Weeks and Ben Cooper help the two teams.

The antiques expert also learns about the history of local merchants, the Shrewsbury Drapers.

The presenter and auctioneer is known for regular appearances on a number of BBC Antique programmes.

Charlie is married to his wife Sally and they have two children together, as well as four grandchildren.

The star has lived near Bicester outside Oxford since 1981.

Not much is known about his marriage to Sally, though their children’s names are Charlotte and Oliver.

He started his career in 1968, auctioning chickens and turkeys.

From here he progressed to antique furniture and set up his own auction house near Milton Keynes.

The star has travelled the world for his work and for many years, he conducted the Pebble Beach Vintage Car Auction in California.

He also spearheaded the Scottsdale Auction in Arizona for Gooding and Company.

Back in 2020, Charlie reunited with other BBC antique experts James Braxton, Philip Serrell and others to raise money for both Alzheimer’s Society and Action for Children.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, they safely recorded a rendition of Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin’ Stevens.

The star has also had regular appearances on Flog It!, Antiques Road Trip and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.

Opening up about what he loves best about Bargain Hunt, he said: “I really enjoy visiting the different venues and meeting such a diverse and interesting selection of people.”

He said he ended up in a career in antiques “by chance” and ended up being taken in by the history of objects.

The auctioneer admitted if he was younger he would love to have become a professional cricketer.

He warned others looking to get into the antiques business: “Only go into the antique trade if you are truly passionate about the objects.”

In his spare time, he said he enjoys singing and occasionally acting.

The star joked that the one thing he collected himself was “grandchildren”.

He presents Bargain Hunt alongside Anita Manning, Eric Knowles, Christina Trevanion and Natasha Raskin Sharp.

The presenter likes to keep his marriage out of the public eye and has revealed very little about his wife.

Bargain Hunt airs on weekdays on BBC One at 12.15pm.
