Carol Kirkwood, 59, joined Charlie Stayt, 58, and Naga Munchetty, 46, on Thursday’s edition of BBC Breakfast, albeit in another studio. The forecaster appeared frequently throughout the morning and had numerous conversations with her BBC co-stars. One of them was about the racing at Royal Ascot taking place this week and the meteorologist detailed how she would be there to present the weather report but the pandemic has brought proceedings to a halt.

After giving the first forecast of the morning, Naga spoke to Carol about how the weather’s going to impact sporting events taking place in the coming days.

The host said: “Carol, thank you very much. Of course, that England versus Scotland game is taking place tomorrow night.

“That’s at Wembley so it could be thundery as well,” she remarked before bringing the weather report to an end.

However, the forecaster added: “And it’s Ladies Day at Royal Ascot as well today,” to which the host declared: “Once upon a time, you would’ve been there.”

“In the olden days, yes,” the meteorologist shared with Naga replying: “It will happen again one day, Carol.”
