Bradley Walsh left open-mouthed as The Chase contestants make show history in first round | The Sun

BRADLEY Walsh was left flabbergasted after two contestants bagged £10,000 during the first round – making show history.

Wednesday evening's episode of the ITV quiz show saw Michael, Ross, Joel and Elizabeth join forces to take on one of the country's finest brains – and two of them soon stole the show.

Michael was first up and set the team in good stead when he managed to bank £10,000 in his cash-builder round.

Bradley was pleased with the positive start Michael had made for the team, however, Chaser Paul Sinha looked to tempt him and offered a staggering £30k instead.

Michael decided to stick with his £10k and ended up flying through the round, making it back for the final.

Up next was Ross and, much like Michael, he banked £10k in the cash-builder round, leaving Bradley and Paul stunned.

As Paul took his seat he exclaimed: "Well, I can't speak for any of the other Chasers, but that is definitely the first time two players have got ten or more in their cash-builders against me.

"So hang around until the end, I think I am going to need a nurse at the end of this session."

Ross also flew through the round against Paul and joined Michael back at the table ready for their final.

Joel was the third contestant to take on Paul and revealed to Bradley that he would love to get his driving license and a Maserati if they won the money.

Joel later made it through to the final and brought the total up to £25,000.

Elizabeth was the fourth and final contestant, revealing that the money would be adding to her "expensive" shoe habit.

However, she was caught two spaces from home and was eliminated from the competition, leaving the other three to play for £25,000.
