Beckhams may be banned from using speedboats on lake at £6m Cotswolds home
THE Beckhams could be banned from using speedboats on their new lake.
Experts say restrictions are needed to protect the wildlife and plants.
David, 46, and Victoria, 45, want a 4,170 sq metre lake with an island at their Cotswolds home.
Planners are expected to give the green light but only if the Beckhams promise to use row boats.
Esther Frizell-Armitage, a biodiversity officer, told West Oxfordshire council: “This is to minimise disturbance to wildlife.”
The Beckhams sparked complaints over their £6million barn conversion in Great Tew, Oxon.
Locals say the bolthole, with wine cellar, sauna, pool, tennis court and football pitch, is “ugly”, “monstrous” and “out of keeping” with the area.
The lake work must be completed by next month to protect nesting birds, bats and hedgehogs.
