Bake Off's Candice Brown splits from husband Liam Macauley as he moves out of the flat above her pub

BAKE Off's Candice Brown has split from her husband Liam Macauley less than two years after they got married.

Liam has moved out of the flat they shared above her pub.

Her agent told the Mirror: “I can confirm Candice and Liam separated earlier this year."

Candice put on a brave face today as she appeared on Good Morning Britain to talk about restaurants taking deposits to ensure people turn up for their bookings.

The pub owner revealed she charges £20 per person for a dinner reservation to keep her business afloat in the time of the coronavirus pandemic.

Candice said on the show: "It's common courtesy just to call and cancel if you can't make a booking."

She later hosted a bake-along to raise funds and awareness for Coppafeel, to help women check their breasts for lumps and to prevent breast cancer.

But she also admitted "think I’m going to eat a lot of biscuits today", a sign that the split might be taking its toll.

In a 2016 interview with Hello! Candice said: “Liam is my biggest support. He tells me every day that he's so proud of me.”

In October 2017 Candice confirmed they had got engaged after rumours swirled for months that they were heading down the aisle.

Reflecting on the proposal, Candice explained: "I get emotional. Because it's been such an amazing year. I feel very lucky.

"I've had such incredible opportunities – GBBO opened so many doors – and to top it off he puts a ring on it."

She also revealed that Liam had proposed to her in a car park where they had spent time on their first date and that she had cried for five minutes before saying yes.

It came nine months after Liam said he would "of course" be marrying Candice during an interview at the National Television Awards.

Liam didn't comment on pictures of Candice sharing an intimate kiss with Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood at the Pride of Britain Awards at the beginning of November 2017.
