Netflix series Inventing Anna dropped on the streaming platform on February 11. Who is Anna Delvey’s boyfriend?

In the Netflix series Inventing Anna, viewers are introduced to the title character’s boyfriend Chase Sikorski (Saamer Usman).

Anna and Chase are seen quaffing champagne on yachts in sun-soaked locations as he is revealed to be pivotal in helping her scale the heights of New York society.

Chase is introduced as an entrepreneur who delivers a TED Talk on his new app Wake.

Wake mines dreams and with Anna’s help, Chase manages to secure investment for the app he’s building.

Inventing Anna sees Chase hoodwinked into believing his girlfriend is a German heiress, who will be getting a sizeable windfall come her 25th birthday.

However, unknown to Anna, Chase is using the investment money for Wake to fund their luxurious lifestyle.

When the money dries up, Anna exposes what Chase has done to his investors.

He then heads off to the Emirates to work as a futurist and leaves behind the chaos he’s created in America.

Inventing Anna features a disclaimer at the start, reading: “This story is completely true. Except for the parts that are totally made up.”

From the looks of it, the producers behind Inventing Anna have mined details from the New Yorker article to build the fictitious character of Chase.

In the feature, Anna’s boyfriend gets a small passing mention without a name attached and mere hints as to his identity.

Pressler writes how Anna was galavanting around with “a futurist on the TED-Talks circuit who’d been profiled in The New Yorker”.

Aside from this, Pressler says the couple was together for two years and during this time they would attend parties discussing an app he was working on and she talking about a private club she planned to launch.

There has been speculation about the identity of Anna’s mystery beau with some suggesting it could be Hunter Lee Soik, who was a creative consultant for Jay-Z and Kayne West’s Watch The Throne Tour and worked in Dubai.

A source told Page Six: “Hunter is the person who got her into the scene. He is a social person globally.

“No one knew what he did, but he was always giving advice on how to climb the corporate ladder.”

Another possible candidate is apparently David Shing, who had given a TED Talk into human connectivity and was profiled by The New Yorker and would have been around 44 when he met Anna.

A third perhaps unlikely possibility is Ray Kurzweil, who specialises in AI and Singularity – the point where civilisation and society are completely changed forever by the growth of technology.

However, given Kurzweil would have been in his late sixties, it’s unlikely he was Anna’s boyfriend, according to Screen Rant.

Nonetheless, it appears viewers will never really know who Anna was with and it may become part of the myth of the woman who conned New York socialites out of vast sums.
