A Place in the Sun turns awkward as guest refuses to look around ‘small’ home

A Place in the Sun's Danni Menzies was trying to find an apartment in Spain's Costa del Sol for a hard-to-please buyer who dismissed many as "too small".

During Friday's episode of the Channel 4 show, which originally aired in 2020, mum-of-three Sheila had a budget of £135,000 and wanted two bedrooms and sea views.

The first property was a disappointment because she didn't like the style, while the second left her "upset" and "panicking" because the bathroom was small.

Property three seemed to go down a bit better, but then property four left her feeling "a bit depressed".

With just one final chance to impress the picky buyer, Danni took her to a two-bed apartment in Benalmadena's Old Town on the market for £159,000.

This apartment had a communal swimming pool, padel courts, and shared gardens.

It also had a good-sized private terrace with the sea views Sheila had dreamed about.

Inside there was a large living and dining room, separate kitchen, two bedrooms, one with an en suite bathroom, and a shower room.

Unfortunately, Sheila ruled it out almost immediately which was another huge blow for Danni.

At first, things were going well and Sheila said the balcony was "amazeballs" and thought she could picture her family spending time there.

But she was very upset when she was taken to the main bedroom.

"What do you think?" asked Danni.

Sheila's face fell and she bluntly said: "Small."

"I mean the view, again, is perfect, to die for, brilliant. But the room itself, I'm not feeling it," she added.

Danni said: "If you are not getting the feeling, do you want to see any more of this?"

Sheila ended the search there and then and said: "Probably not."

In the end, she decided none of the properties were right for her and her family and so she didn't make any offers.
