A Place in the Sun guest branded ‘full of s***’ when asking pendulum for opinion

A Place in the Sun viewers were fuming when a spiritualistic house buyer pulled out a pendulum necklace to help her on picking her dream house.

Daniela, who practises holistic therapies including Shamanic drumming, is looking to buy a house in western Madeira, just off Portugal, with a budget of £100,000.

She brought her mum, Janet, as a voice of reason while presenter Jonnie Irwin showed them properties around the area.

Daniela, from east Yorkshire, also took a crystal pendulum necklace as her "spiritual guide" on her house-hunting journey.

Jonnie brought the pair to the community of Calheta for a stunning two-bed house with moutain and sea view.

The property has a covered terrace and a garden, which are perfect for Daniela's two dogs.

"It's nice and cosy, it's like a cottage," Daniela shared her first impression. "The kitchen is absolutely brilliant, it's big, it's airy and light.

"Love the wall tiles, very traditional Portuguese. I don't feel any bad energy here, that's good."

After a tour of the house, Daniela pulled out her pink pendulum as a "litmus test" on the house.

Jonnie said: "I did see you sort of shaking that earlier on."

Daniela explained that the pendulum will give her the answer if she shaked it.

"If I ask the question 'is this house for me' and it will give me the answer yes or no. I use it a lot in life, for different things," she added.

But her mum, Janet, interrupted and murmured: "Bonkers!"

The trio laughed it off and Jonnie asked Daniela to "ask the pendulum".

She spun the necklace and asked: "So is this house, here, the house for me?"

"It's anti-clockwise, so it's a no."

Jonnie was not convinced and said Daniela had had a very postivie impression to the house before asking the pendulum.

And the viewers were with Jonnie.

"Crystal says no to that one, HAHAHAH," one said and another mocked: "Buy or fly…oh let me ask my pendulum."

"Pendulum! What a crock of s***!" a third added.

"Mum's face when she whacked out that pendulum," a fourth noted.
