'90 Day Fiance': Syngin Colchester Was Just Charged With This Crime
Though the cast members of 90 Day Fiance become famous for their pursuits of love, they are no strangers to having run-ins with the law. Season after season, it seems that at least one lover ends up with a mug shot at some point.
This time, it’s South African Syngin Colchester who has run into problems with the law.
If you’ve been watching this season of 90 Day Fiance, then you know that Colchester is probably one of the more laid back people on the show. So, what did he get charged with?
How did Syngin and Tania meet?
Syngin Colchester and Tania Maduro met in a pretty unexpected way. Maduro was actually in South Africa to meet another man from a dating app. But when that didn’t work out, she decided to stay in South Africa and continue her trip. While there, she met Colchester, who was working as a bartender. The two immediately hit it off and Maduro stayed in the country for several months and traveled with her new beau.
Tania and Syngin’s relationship gets rocky
Falling in love on vacation is a lot harder than staying in love in real life. For Colchester and Maduro, there were a lot of things that could be ignored in South Africa that they had to actually work through in America.
One big point of contention between the two was Colchester’s lack of ambition. Whenever he was asked what career he would like to pursue, he couldn’t choose.
“I think I would like to start out bartending,” he said on a recent episode.
“I could narrow it down, but then I might be leaving possibilities out,” he continued. “I haven’t found anything that I truly love to do.”
And the couple also continually argued over whether they wanted children or not.
“I told Syngin that I will give him three years,” Maduro said on the show of her timeline for having children. “He has a little bit of a hard time when I say that.”
But Colchester has refused to bend to Maduro’s will.
“I’m not going to buckle, I will not be under the pressure of being told when to have a child, all these kind of things,” he said to the camera. “Financially, I don’t think she realizes having a kid is such a commitment.”
What did Colchester get arrested for?
Colchester has bigger fish to fry than worrying about children right now, though, as he was recently charged with possession in Connecticut.
The reality star was pulled over on July 26 for not wearing a seatbelt. While he was stopped, the officer found marijuana in Colchester’s possession. Since he only had less than half an ounce of the substance, he was given a $150 fine. He, then, had to appear in court on Nov. 27.
When you are applying to stay in the United States, you should really be on your best behavior. This little run-in with the law could cause some serious problems for Colchester if he wishes to stay in the country.
Hopefully, this possession charge will not have long term effects on Colchester’s ability to live in the U.S. and his and Maduro’s relationship.
