Saira Khan faces death threats over bikini snaps but tells trolls ‘bring it on’

Loose Women panelist Saira Khan recently acknowledged receiving death threats due to sharing bikini photos, but she has remained resolute in her decision, stating she won't cease because she takes pride in her fitness and well-being.

The Apprentice 2005 runner up revealed that she has encountered distressing online abuse from her Muslim community whilst she has been expressing her contentment with her appearance, valuing her state of being "fit" and "healthy."

She toldCloser: “I’m so proud to be in a bikini, yet in my culture I’ve experienced death threats for showing myself.

“I can’t tell you how much trolling I’ve had.

“I say, ‘Bring it on’ – because I’m not going to stop.

“People are scared of powerful women, because when we own who we are, we change the world!”

The 53-year-old telly personality explained that she believed that it was important see “what a fit, healthy body” looked like at her age, for women in her community and her culture.

“I fully believe that if you can’t see it, you can’t be it,” Saira said.

She continued: “We need to show off our bodies in order to get vitamin D – otherwise it really won’t serve you well later in life.”

The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant has consistently displayed her defiance by choosing to wear a bikini in public, as she has been taking care of her physique.

Saira had in fact just returned from a juice retreat in Portugal, seeking help to deal with "menopausal bloating," which she said had her appearing as if she was "six months pregnant."

She told the publication: “As you hit the menopause there are lots of things you have to watch, like the thickening of the waist, weak bones, hormonal changes, depression, and anxiety.

“A lot of it is to do with your diet and physical activity.

“I love sugar and I wish I could have it all the time, but I can’t, because I want to feel good about myself and I don’t want that hormonal roller coaster.

“I can’t afford to be like that every day because it gets me down.

“I’ve cut it out as much as I can and, actually, I feel better for it.

“I’ve noticed big changes like weight loss, hormonal balances, more energy and less anxiety.”

The Derbyshire native born to Pakistani immigrants is the mum to Zachariah, aged 15, and Amara, aged 12, with her spouse Steve Hyde.
