“Life is a lot at the moment but we’re getting through it with the help of our wonderful friends and family.”

Speaking of her experience with Rhod’s treatment plan so far, she added: “It’s not ideal and all the meds and equipment fill an entire car on their own at the moment!”

One fan reminded her to find happiness in the smaller things amid the battle, to which Sian agreed: “You’re so right about finding joy in tiny things when you can.”

In July this year, Rhod made the announcement that he is receiving treatment for cancer, as the Never Mind the Buzzcocks star explained: “As a proud patron of Velindre Cancer Centre, I’ve trekked the world, hosted chaotic quizzes and star-studded comedy nights.

“I’ve met and made friends with so many inspirational staff, patients and their families. It has been a huge part of my life for the last 10 years.”

He went on: “So while I never imagined that I would be a patient here, I know better than anyone that I am in the best possible hands. The NHS care I’m receiving is incredible.

“I wouldn’t wish this on anyone… but who knows, maybe I’ll come out the other end with a new stand-up show and a 40 minute rant about orange squash.”

Signing off, the Welsh broadcaster said: “I’ll be disappearing for a while and won’t be commenting further, at least not for now, whilst I focus on my recovery.”

The comedian added that he was forced to cancel the last seven shows of his comedy tour Book of John, but aims to reschedule them for early next year.

Rhod later added that he was “thrilled” that his diagnosis had turned into “something so positive” to help other patients around the country, after a series of comedy events throughout October were announced to raise money for the cancer centre.
