Michael Jackson made his way around the showbiz circles over the course of his life. Jackson was famously good friends with Elizabeth Taylor, the legendary actress, who spent a lot of her time with the star during the 80s and 90s. Jackson also rubbed shoulders with Princess Diana, who was a devout fan of Jackson’s work.

Unfortunately it seems as if not everyone had the best experience in meeting the King of Pop.

Mike Tyson recently spoke out on T.I.’s expediTIously Podcast, in which he regaled listeners with how he was “snubbed” by Jackson.

Tyson was at the height of his fame in the late 80s when he became the Heavyweight Champion of the world.

Speaking about meeting Jackson alongside promoter Don King, Tyson explained: “I met Mike one day, I think he was at a concert in Cleveland, I’m with Don King.

“So me and Don come in, right? And I’m champ and everything, did all this s**t, undisputed. So Don goes and Don gives Michael Jackson the ‘peace’ sign, like this. And then so Michael gives Don the ‘peace’ sign, and so I give Michael the ‘peace’ sign, and Michael put his hand down.”

Tyson was shocked by this turn of events, forcing him to question whether it really happened.

He continued: “In a way, I say, ‘Did he play me? Nah, he didn’t play me, he just didn’t see me. I knew he didn’t play me, cause I’m f*****g champ.'”

But things only got worse for Tyson, as Jackson supposedly didn’t know who he was.

Tyson went on: “He’s on stage, it’s over I’m signing autographs and stuff, so Michael comes over and he talks to Don, he doesn’t talk to me. … I say ‘Let me just go on and meet Mike’, cause that’s really why I’m here, I want to meet Mike.

“And then I go over to meet Mike, … and he goes like this, ‘Don’t I know you from somewhere? Where I know you from?'”

Tyson laughed: “He broke my ego, he crushed me.

“I said ‘No, I’m just a fan, pleasure to meet you, sir. He said, ‘OK’, and then he got out and went in the car [and left].”

Tyson later revealed he did spend some time with Jackson some time later, in which he called him a “good guy”.

However, he did add: “But in my mind, I said ‘Why’d you play me though, Mike? Why’d you play me like that? You knew who I was, why’d you play me?'”

Recently Jackson’s more humanitarian side was remembered on his Twitter account.

The King of Pop’s biggest tour to date, The Bad Tour, concluded up in 1987.

And shortly after returning home, Jackson donated a lot of his own possessions to charities to raise money for children.

The tweet read: “After wrapping up the Bad Tour in October of 1987, Michael donated some of his personal items to UNESCO to be auctioned off for charity.

“Proceeds were donated to the education of children in developing countries. #MJHumanitarian.”
