Kate Garraway ‘honoured’ as she celebrates TRIC Award nomination with sweet snap

Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway shared a smiley Instagram snap to celebrate winning Best Radio Programme award.

Kate has been presenting ‘Mid Mornings with Kate Garraway’ since March 2014.

The presenter, 54, has been in broadcasting for 31 years, and began at BBC Radio Oxford, where she became an Independent Television News trainee journalist by 1994.

The TRIC Awards, or The Television and Radio Industries Club was formed in 1931, to network and raise money for good causes.

She captioned the snap with: “Well what an honour to be among these shows for this years @tricawardsuk Best Radio Programme award .

"As you can see my producer @jamesdanielsjd & I are chuffed to mintballs ! See you at 10 for an award nominated @smoothradio show !"

The picture showed Kate and her producer, James Daniels in the Smooth Radio studio.

Text under the image of the pair read the other nominees for the award of best Radio Programme.

The nominees and Kate’s competition are Capital Breakfast and The Jason Manford Show.

In 1998 Kate became Sky News’ breakfast show main anchor and has since gone on to become a regular on British TV.

Kate hosted GMTV and Daybreak for 11 years and now the busy mum of two also finds time to host Good Morning Britain.

In 2019, she appeared on ITV's I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, finishing in fourth place.

Kate had to take a break from her career when her husband, Derek was hospitalized with Coronavirus.

Former Pop Idol and Hearsay member, Myleene Klass filled Kate’s spot in her show.

On her return to the show last year, Kate said: ”I’m delighted to be returning to my morning show on Smooth and to my Global family who have been a big support to me. Things are still hugely challenging and a long way from being normal, but I’d like to think that this will give Derek yet another opportunity to hear my voice as well as many of the songs we both love.”

The nomination marks seven years at the station for Kate.

Fans commented: “Well done you guys.”

Another said: “Congrats and very well deserved!”

Cheering her on, one added: “Kate all the way x”
