Comedian Russell Brand devastated by huge loss as fans rush to support him

Russell Brand has been left devastated by a huge loss, as his dog Carly has sadly died.

The comedian paid tribute to his adorable Golden Retriever on Instagram, sharing a sweet snap of her sitting on the shore of a lake looking out at the water as Russell went for a swim.

Writing in the caption, Russell explained: “Today our dog Carly died. We inherited her from her first owners (who had died) via a mate.

Dog-lover Russell made headlines last year after his dog Bear, a German Shepherd, reportedly mauled a wallaby to death near his Oxfordshire home.

Russell had rushed to save the marsupial, which had a baby in her pouch, and though he managed to rescue the baby, the mother sadly died.

A bystander told The Sun: “Absolutely no-one is blaming Russell or his dog – it’s just a horrible accident.

“In fact Russell was the hero because he managed to save the little joey. It could have been far worse if he hadn’t stepped in so quickly.”

An animal lover, Russell regularly shares snaps of his adorable pooches on social media, and offered fans a throwback snap to when Bear was just a fluffy puppy in 2017.

The comedian could be seen cradling his pup in his hands as Bear’s fluffy paws flopped freely around.
