Britney Spears blasts dad Jamie for ‘psychological trauma’ experienced in youth

Britney Spears, 40, has blasted her father and former conservator Jamie for allegedly making her feel "ugly" and causing her "psychological damage" when she was a teenager.

The chart-topper, who in November came out of her nearly 14-year-long conservatorship, took to Instagram, where she opened up about the alleged emotional abuse.

The singer shared a black-and-white photo from when she was 13 and wrote a lengthy caption detailing her trauma.

Reflecting on her youth, Britney said: "13 was the age I actually felt kinda pretty. I think my rebellious days were due to the fact that I always had to be perfect and pretty… then I went to the extremes and went wild and naughty."

She then opened up about her conservatorship and how her life had been impacted by her father, 69.

She added: "One thing the conservatorship did to me … and one of the things that hurt me the most… is that I was always being told I was fat and never good enough!!! My dad always made me feel like I had to try… try… try!!! BIG TIME!!!

"He [Jamie] ruined the deep seed of my existence… the seed that made me feel beautiful like when I was 13… my confidence… my swag… my inner dialogue… and yes even my sex life… all completely ruined!!! He made me feel ugly… therefore I was!!"

The Grammy winner then explained that the "uncomfortable conversation is great" and that she felt "so good" when the conservatorship ended.

She wrote: "The moment the conservatorship was over… I felt so good about myself!!! And guess what… I stopped trying so damn hard and yes I entered a whole new world!!!"

Britney finished with, "I felt beautiful… therefore I was !!! I might feel that way but the psychological damage from my dad and EVERY SINGLE F***ING person who went along with it will always be there!!! What you think… therefore you are!!! I kinda feel 13 again [sic]!!!"

Britney is currently expecting her third child with fiancé Sam Asghari, 28.

She has previously been married to Jason Allen Alexander and Kevin Federline.

After almost 14 years, her conservatorship finally came to an end last year on November 12.

Her father eventually filed to end the conservatorship, though he had originally urged the court not to make a decision based on "false allegations".

Daily Star has contacted Jamie's attorney for comment.
