Brian McFadden and fiancée Danielle expecting baby after two tragic miscarriages
Brian McFadden and his fiancée Danielle Parkinson have announced they are expecting a child together.
Brian, 40, and 39-year-old Danielle described their unborn child as a “miracle”, having previously suffered two miscarriages.
Speaking about when they will welcome their bundle of joy into the world, Brian said: "We’re 15 weeks along now," while Danielle added: "We’re due on 14 May. But they said normally with your first baby it can be early."
The happy couple have been trying to start a family for two years, and turned to ITVF treatment after their devastating losses.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Danielle said: "It does [feel like a miracle] but I feel awful saying that, as I’ve had so many messages on Instagram.
"The IVF community is so lovely and I’ve heard real traumatic stories from people who have been trying for 10 years, people who have had eight-plus miscarriages, so I feel we got lucky on our third attempt."
Brian went on to credit royal Zara Phillips and her husband Mike Tindall, who he said put them in touch with a nutritionist who they claim helped them conceive.
Brian explained: "Mike and Zara put us in touch with Simone the nutritionist who got us prepared for this time.
"After we had the miscarriage, we sat with them and talked. This woman would put us on a certain diet, and Mike guaranteed it would work. He was completely right."
Brian is already a dad to two daughters, Molly, 19, and Lilly-Sue, 17, from his marriage to Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona.
Brian was also married to Irish model Vogue Williams, but the pair split in 2015 and their divorce was finalised in 2017.
The Westlife singer then went on to strike up a romance with PE teacher Danielle, and they announced their engagement in December 2019.
Brian said that the birth of his child will definitely strengthen his bond with his older daughters.
"Obviously Molly lives in Dublin now, so we don’t see her as much as we’d like to, but we’re happy now that Lilly’s with us as we get to see her a lot more," he said.
"They’re very maternal and I can’t wait for them to be part of our family life as well. It’s going to be good. They’re excited. They’ve been with us since the beginning of the IVF, so they’ve gone through all the highs and lows."
