To All the Boys Most Viewed Netflix, Original Movie Record Views
Netflix original movie To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before came in and not only skyrocketed stars Lana Condor and Noah Centineo to international fame, but also completely took over our lives. Like, we must’ve watched that bad boy dozens of times in the first week of its release and, based on new data from the streaming service, we were definitely not alone in our viewing obsession.
Netflix released information that reveals over 80 MILLION people watched at least one of its “Summer of Love” films, which included rom-coms To All the Boys, Sierra Burgess is a Loser and The Kissing Booth, but singled out TATBILB as one of the “most viewed original films ever with strong repeat viewing.”
When Lana heard the news, she couldn’t help but express her excitement.
“AHHHHHHHH YES FAM YES,” she tweeted in response.
Netflix director of original films Matt Brodlie told Mashable back in August that the company realized many of its viewers were watching rom-coms and decided to create some new options for them to binge.
“Because we’re Netflix, we were able to see that people around the world had been watching a lot of rom-coms in our catalog,” he explained. “And putting two and two together, people enjoy watching them, there aren’t a lot of them out there, so let’s jump in and get into this genre that seems to be really enjoyable for a lot of people.”
And just because Netflix called it the “Summer of Love” doesn’t mean its days of creating incredible romantic comedies are over.
Matt added, “We’re going to make it a life of romance, not just a summer. You should definitely watch this space for more of them after the summer’s over. For sure.”
WE CAN’T WAIT!
