This year Disney’s Marvel Studios are releasing four MCU movies and the last will be Spider-Man No Way Home. The Sony blockbuster is shrouded in secrecy and still doesn’t even have a teaser trailer out. But now it’s alleged that the first trailer will screen next week at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

In a now-deleted tweet, reliable Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman wrote: “Good news; it looks like there will be a No Way Home trailer screened at CinemaCon next week! Bad news, It will not be available to the public!”

CinemaCon is taking place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from August 23-26 and Sony Pictures have a three-hour slot on opening night, so maybe the Spider-Man No Way Home trailer will premiere here.

According to the event’s website: “The use of cameras or any electronic devices – audio or video – is strictly prohibited.

“Please completely power down your mobile devices before the start of the presentation.”

So if the rumour is true, Marvel fans around the world may be relying on a trailer description from the lucky few who get to see the footage at CinemaCon.

While given that the next MCU movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings hits cinemas on September 3, it would make sense for the Spider-Man No Way Home trailer to play before it.

Certainly, Sony would want the teaser to go in front of their non-MCU Marvel movie, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which has been delayed to October 15.

Perhaps even a second trailer will feature before the Tom Hardy sequel, since the new Spider-Man blockbuster will release just two months later on December 17.

Whatever the case, Spider-Man No Way Home is heavily rumoured to be quite the multiverse epic.

It’s expected, but unconfirmed, that Tom Holland’s third Spidey movie will include Peter Parker variants played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

Not only that but villains from non-MCU Sony Spider-Man outings are supposedly set to turn up too. Doc Ock star Alfred Molina has confirmed he’s in the movie, while Jamie Foxx’s Electro is set to appear also.

And if that weren’t enough, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin and more baddies are rumoured to feature in Spider-Man No Way Home too. Maybe even Hardy’s Venom will cameo?

And no doubt the events of this movie will impact Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness three months later since Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorceror Supreme stars in both.

Interestingly, the latter film is directed by Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy’s Sam Raimi, so who knows who what characters will show up.

Whatever happens, the MCU is about to get pretty weird in the most wonderful ways as the franchise continues to explore the multiverse and time travel.

Spider-Man No Way Home hits cinemas on December 17, 2021.
