Jamie Lee Curtis had a second Halloween role you totally missed

Note: Contains minor spoilers for Halloween.

Halloween marks the triumphant return of Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, but that wasn’t her only role in the movie.

Writer-director David Gordon Green has revealed that Curtis also voiced another role in the sequel that you’ll remember as it comes during its most chilling sequence. Minor spoilers await, so don’t read past the trailer if you don’t want it ruined.

When Michael Myers makes it back to Haddonfield, we follow him on his initial killing spree between two houses and, at one point, we hear a crying baby and wonder if Myers has it in him to kill a baby.

Fortunately, he leaves the baby alone and just walks past the crib, but it turns out that Myers could have had some Laurie revenge as it was actually Curtis who delivered the crying.

“The sound of the baby crying? Jamie Lee. I can’t believe I haven’t said that yet,” Green told CinemaBlend. “When we got really close we used a real baby cry, but for as you hear it coming around you can hear a baby’s cry softly in the background, that’s her.”

Previously, Green told Digital Spy that the baby in the crib moment was a “last-minute idea” from the production designer. “There was a dry spot in our shot, and we had 15 seconds of no tension,” he explained.

“So it’s a little weird that there’s a baby crib in the living room, but to me, it was exciting when he threw that idea out, just thinking, ‘Oh, now we have an opportunity for an ethical choice from a predator’. Right? So what’s he going to do? We know what we don’t want him to do.”
