James Bond: Here is EVERYTHING that has gone WRONG with Bond 25 so far
Bond 25 is tentatively scheduled for an April 2020 release date. However, next year’s springtime goal seems like a longshot for Eon Productions after a string of delays. Since development began, Bond 25 has been plagued by stops and starts including changes both behind and in front of the camera. Here is everything that has gone wrong so far with Bond 25.
In August Danny Boyle, the director initially charged with helming Daniel Craig’s last outing as James Bond, quit.
His resignation came in August 2019, over reports of creative differences.
With Boyle’s resignation also went the screenplay, penned by Boyle’s longtime creative partner John Hodges.
In the wake of Boyle and Hodges leaving, Cary Joji Fukunaga was tapped to direct.

Fukunaga returned to a script by Bond stalwarts Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
Yet the screenplay has not returned unscathed and has seen significant rewrites from the director.
Recently, Fleabag and Killing Eve’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge was brought on to edit, with more changes coming from Craig himself.
During the Bond press conference in April, Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson confirmed Bond 25 still did not have an official title.
JAMES BOND MOVIE: HOW 007 FILMS HAVE STOOD THE TEST OF TIME
Then, on June 4, three explosions tore through a Bond 25 set at Pinewood Studios, leaving one member of staff needing medical treatment.
Daniel Craig, too, needed medical treatment after he sustained an ankle injury during a run while filming in Jamaica.
By the time Craig recovers, Rami Malek, who has joined Bond 25 to play the villain, will have other filming commitments which begin.
This reportedly leaves Malek and Craig without time to film together.
JAMES BOND 25 DIRECTOR: WHO IS NEW DIRECTOR? WHO IS CARY FUKUNAGA?
A statement released by the official Twitter account for Bond 25 read: “Daniel Craig will be undergoing minor ankle surgery resulting from an injury sustained during filming in Jamaica.
“Production will continue whilst Craig is rehabilitating for two weeks post-surgery.
“The film remains on track for the same release date in April 2020.”
Whether Bond 25 can overcome all of these hurdles and deliver the finale Daniel Craig deserves remains to be seen.
Bond 25 is, as of writing, still scheduled for April 3, 2020.
