Strictly Come Dancing’s Judi Love takes ‘hour-long baths’ each day after gruelling training

Loose Women panelist and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Judi Love gave us an update on her Strictly training in her OK! column this week. And it sounds like the star is loving practice – although it's not without its challenges!

Admitting she's "beyond excited" to be paired with Graziano Di Prima, Judi is determined to put in the hard work with her dance training – but she needs a long soak in the bath each night to recover! Also in this week's column, Judi expresses her relief that British actress Tanya Fear had been found by police in LA after going missing.

Graziano was on my wishlist!

I was beyond excited to find out I’ve been partnered with Graziano Di Prima for Strictly – he was definitely one of my top wish list picks!

We’ve already been getting stuck into training and we’ve got a great vibe. He’s a brilliant dancer and I’m so excited to see how far he can pull out the dancer in me.

I can’t lie, training is intense. Each day I call my daughter on the way home and get her to run me a bath so I can sit in it for an hour, eat and then go to bed. But I’m ready to put in the hard work.

I know my first dance, but I can’t tell you what it is yet. I’m both excited and nervous for you all to see it.

Support for Tanya

Last week it was reported that 31-year-old actress Tanya Fear had been found by police in Los Angeles after going missing.

Firstly, I’m so glad that Tanya has been found safe and whatever the circumstances around her ordeal, I hope she’s getting the love and help she needs.

A lot of young black actors go over to try and break the US, and it really warmed my heart to see the response from the black community of actors, comedians and agents over here, who pulled together to try and support and find her.

People in this industry can be vulnerable whether in front or behind the camera as we often have to travel to places that we don’t know and therefore don’t always feel safe. It’s good to know that the community here was ready to support one of our own, even from afar.

Married at First Sight Madness

This series of Married At First Sight UK seems to be filled with drama. Usually there’s a build-up and then one episode a week is dramatic. But every night there’s drama.

It’s like one of the UK producers saw the Australian one and said, “Oh hell no, we’ve got to up the drama.” They have succeeded!

Embracing my curls

We recently celebrated World Afro Day. The day was created by a woman called Michelle De Leon because, for too long, afro hair has been discriminated against for not being seen as a professional hairstyle in both schools and workplaces.

I display and wear my natural hair, but often when I’m on set and filming I wear wigs to protect it from heat styling. But there’s no better feeling for me than to run my fingers through my natural hair and feel all my curls, coils and waves.

It’s important for women of colour with kinky hair to show you are proud of it. And for other young girls and boys who are growing up and might feel that they don’t fit into Western ideas of beauty – your natural, beautiful self is a great thing.

Some more exciting news is that I’ll be on the Snatch Game of the next series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. It was so fun and I loved every minute of working with Ru. He’s the queen of all queens. The show is so hyper.

Everything is at level 10 – the hair, the attitude, the vibes. My outfit was killer but it had to be. When you’re on a show with drag queens, you have to up your game!
