Robbie Williams opens up about third child Coco

Both Robbie Williams and his wife are X Factor judges and they now have a newborn baby and two other children to look after in-between his stadium gigs around the world.

But the former Take That star insists new child Coco has been “no hassle whatsoever” and is bonding with his other kids while he stays relaxed.

Speaking lovingly in Los Angeles about his new-born baby, Robbie said: “Coco Josephine Williams, she’s the most chilled baby that we’ve ever had out of all three of them and it’s interesting, the progression being a parent, from the first child where, when they go to sleep, if you hear something two miles away you wanna send somebody two miles away to tell them to shut up.

“Then on the third one, you know, the kids are fighting, the TV’s on and baby stays asleep and I think because we’re more chilled, she’s more chilled.”

Asked what daughter Teddy, five, and son Charlie, three think of Coco, he adds: “The kids, there’s no jealousy, there’s just lots of love.

“Teddy wants to feed her all the time and cuddle her all the time, and we keep waiting for her to be a nightmare, but so far she hasn’t done anything other than sleep, drink and occasionally smile and then get confused about what she’s doing.

"She goes, because I give her kisses on the head and then rub her hair on the top and then she’ll go.

“She doesn’t know what the smile is, but that’s all she’s up to right now is being adorable and not giving us any hassle whatsoever.”

Robbie, 44, and Ayda welcomed third child Coco in September via a surrogate but confirmed in a statement she was “biologically” their baby.

Ayda said at the time: “It has been a very long and difficult path to get here, which is why we have kept it on the down low.

“Family comes in all forms, and this little lady, who is biologically ours, was carried by an incredible surrogate mother, to whom we will be eternally grateful.’

“We are over the moon to have this beautiful baby girl in our lives and so blessed that we live in a world which makes this possible.”

They celebrated the birth by introducing the baby to pals at a party at Parisian-inspired bakery Ladurée in Beverly Hills a week ago.

But Robbie has had to be back hard at work on The X Factor with youngsters a little older than his own offspring.

He has teenagers amongst his groups section and at Judges House has to decide if he thinks they could cope in the music industry.

He famously went off the rails in Take That and turned to drink and drugs and asked if he would let his own children try out for stardom, he said: “It depends what age they would be and if I was a judge.

"It’s a Catch-22 situation because you want to give people that opportunity that maybe they wouldn’t have but also at the same time your formative years are called formative years for a reason.

"I don’t know the answer, not everybody reacts to fame and getting it early in the same way that I did so who knows? Time will tell.”

After The X Factor openly focused around contestant Anthony Russell attending rehab and returning to audition again this year, Robbie said there was a a “sea change” in society around depression and rehab.

He said: “I think with the whole thing with depression and addiction, there has been a sea change with people’s perception and the way people view the whole thing.

"I remember, let’s say 15 years ago, it was very much on TV you would hear people on panels talking about people with depression or addiction and telling them that they should pull their socks up and just get on with it or man up.

"Now I think it is different. I just think people have been more educated about the ins and outs of what it actually means for people with mental health problems.”

Robbie also spoke about a possible Take That reunion around their anniversary, but he seems unclear which year they should even be celebrating.

He said: “The anniversary date is coming up but it just depends what you count, because we got together in 1990, I think the first single came out in 1992, so does that mean that 2022 is the anniversary date or does that mean that 2020 is the anniversary date?

"And who goes first? Because I’ve got my career and I’ve got my anniversary so I would like, you know, trumpets and whistles and bells and stuff.

“That being said, if you take that out of the equation, I’d love to do something with the boys, if you’re asking me if anything is planned, nothing is planned, no.”

For now the thing Robbie seems keen to organise is to sign up to The X Factor for another year in 2019.

“I’m kind of going ‘When can I ask Simon? Can I ask Simon? Can we do this Simon?’

"I’m loving TV, hopefully this will open doors for me, open doors for my wife and maybe for us both together, but I see my future being on TV in whatever shape that is and I’d love to do next year.”

Robbie Williams was joined by David Walliams in LA who is a guest judge at Robbie’s Judge’s House.

Robbie is mentoring the Groups category and held the auditions in the grounds of his actual home.
