Piers Morgan, 56, admitted his “lowest point” during lockdown while taking a swipe at Gwyneth Paltrow, 48. The Hollywood actress was trending on Twitter on Monday night after she confessed she “went off the rails” during quarantine and drank as many as two (healthy based) cocktails a night and ate bread and pasta.

But while she deemed the measures “extreme”, she was then teased by fans who sarcastically began their own lists of lockdown woes, one of which was Piers.

The former Good Morning Britain host seemed to find the article first written by The Guardian, hilarious as he, among hundreds of others, poked fun at the movie star.

The publication asked readers what their “lowest point” had been during the coronavirus pandemic, inciting many comments from users hoping to get the best line in.

Piers went with: “The night I ate Gwyneth’s vagina candle thinking it was a tub of ice cream.”

Rushing to the comments section, fans were quick to have a giggle at his joke.

“I am going to pretend I didn’t read that,” one said.

A second quipped: “Everything ok with you? Mr Piers? Asking for a friend.”

“I read the first line of this tweet and was like WTF,” a third laughed.

A fourth shared their regret: “I wish this tweet had ended after the first 6 words.”

“Wow, glanced at this tweet and thought you were going somewhere else…” someone else giggled.

While another added: “What the f**k piers. Has lockdown got to you too.”

“You win the internet for the week… DEAD,” a seventh hooted.

Piers was of course referring to Gwyneth’s most talked about product from her lifestyle brand Goop.

The site is known for advertising various health tips – from vaginal steaming, camel milk and bee sting facials.

The product in question made headlines last year, after she released a £68 scented candle – made of soy wax and essential oils – which she claimed smells like her vagina.

Aptly named This Smells Like My Vagina, the candle sold out instantly on the website.

Chatting on ET Canada Live last year, the Marvel actress told the host that the “subversive” candle is for women to celebrate their bodies.

While Piers was having his fun, others took to their own accounts to share their sarcastic reactions to the film star’s admission.

“Thoughts and prayers to Gwyneth Paltrow, who had to do the unspeakable and eat bread,” one reported.

Another quipped: “I try not to be a violent or hateful person but I’d really love it if Gwyneth Paltrow experienced an actual difficulty.”
