Piers Morgan took to Twitter and shared his fury over claims he made “racist” remarks directed towards Meghan Markle. The ex-Good Morning Britain host took issue with US broadcaster Don Lemon’s recent interview with journalist Jemele Hill, where they discussed Sharon Osbourne’s heated debate with her co-star Sheryl Underwood on The Talk.
The former Good Morning Britain host was accused of racism by Sheryl, who also said that Sharon’s tweet in support of him could be misconstrued.
Sharon has since apologised “to anyone of colour” that she may have been offended while discussing the matter on air.
It comes after Piers openly criticised Meghan and Prince Harry following their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
He has since taken to Twitter and demanded an apology from the US anchor, Don.
In view of his 7.8 million followers, Piers retweeted a clip from CNN Tonight which featured Don and Jemele discussing Sharon’s remarks about racism and her support for Piers after his controversial comments about the Duchess of Sussex.
Piers fumed: “Hi @donlemon – are you suggesting in this segment that I am racist because I don’t believe Meghan Markle’s bulls**t?
“If so, do you have any evidence to support my ‘racism’ towards Ms Markle? If not, would you like to apologise for such a shameful smear against a former colleague?”
Piers previously worked at CNN fronting his self-titled show in 2011 but announced his departure from the network three years later.
Don has not responded to the former GMB host’s tweet about alleged racism towards Meghan.
Piers has also hit out at Sheryl from the US show The Talk following her confrontation with Sharon.
The journalist posted an article on the micro-blogging site with Sheryl stating: “I got a good night’s sleep. I slept well, ‘cause I didn’t do anything to anybody.”
Piers hit back: “You did, actually, Ms Underwood.

“You called me a racist for disbelieving Meghan Markle – without producing a shred of evidence that I’ve ever said or written anything racist about her.”
It comes after the explosive Oprah interview, which aired in the US on Sunday 7 March, Meghan said she had considered suicide during her time in the Royal Family as she felt like she “didn’t want to be alive anymore”.
On GMB the following day, Piers said he “didn’t believe a word” of it.
The presenter’s comments led to 57,000 Ofcom complaints which spurred an internal investigation.
ITV announced that Piers – who has said he is standing by his comments – would be leaving GMB.
Speaking outside his home, Piers said of Meghan: “I don’t believe almost anything that comes out of her mouth and I think the damage she’s done to the British monarchy and to the Queen at a time when Prince Philip is lying in hospital is enormous and frankly contemptible.
“If I have to fall on my sword for expressing an honestly held opinion about Meghan Markle and that diatribe of bilge that she came out with in that interview, so be it.”
Piers’ departure from GMB came after he stormed off set following a heated discussion with co-star Alex Beresford.
