Miranda Lambert's New Music Video Isn't Holding Anything Back Against Blake Shelton
Three years after her divorce from Blake Shelton, it sounds like Miranda Lambert is ready to skewer the entire situation. According to Country Living, the latest song from the Pistol Annies, “Got My Name Changed Back,” is a raucous romp through the ups and downs of divorce — all with a tongue-in-cheek wink to her ex.
For anyone unfamiliar with the Pistol Annies, it’s Lambert’s other musical gig that includes bandmates Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley. In the video, they’re both enlisted to take the witness stand and testify on Lambert’s behalf.
“I don’t wanna be a Mrs. on paper no more, I got my name changed back,” the lyrics say. But it’s not just a play on courtroom procedurals. The sequin-clad trio head to the DMV, where the song title comes into play.
“I broke his heart and I took his money,” the song continues.
