Piers Morgan didn’t plan his latest tweet very well when he shared his thoughts about Madonna’s outfit, which she wore to the world premiere of her Madame X concert last night. The 63-year-old singer opted for a plunging black boob tube top, with a white skirt and fishnets tights.
Adding to her style, she wore long gloves, sunglasses and pointed black boots.
Piers, 56, shared a picture of the singer on his Twitter page alongside the caption: “Time for an invention?”
His misuse of the word was pointed out by ITV host Lorraine Kelly, 61, on the social media site.
She wrote: “Do you mean an intervention?” followed by a crying with laughter emoji.
Piers replied: “Haha yes!”
The 56-year-old went on to share his post again, this time using the word intervention.
Many of his eight million followers flocked to his post to comment.
Brian Tynes wrote: “Yes. Piers, it’s time you stopped trying to shame women on Twitter.”
Bernard Table added: “Well, let’s frame this another way, how would we like to see her?
“How should she dress and act? What keeps her out of the intervention?”
Rebecca P commented: “Is this not how she’s always been, people just accepted it more when she was younger.”
“Not a fan of Madonna but please Piers live and let live,” Rash penned.

It’s not the first time the presenter has taken a swipe at the popstar.
Earlier this month, he criticised her dominatrix-style look at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The Like A Virgin hitmaker certainly turned heads in a bondage-style corset, which put her chest centre-stage.
She also left very little to the imagination by displaying her bum cheeks.
Madonna completed her look with fishnet tights, giving fans a glimpse of her jaw-dropping legs.
While many praised her daring look, Piers took to Twitter to slam the star’s outfit decision.
Alongside two pictures of her, he wrote: “Cringe.”
In previous times, he has branded her “self-indulgent twerp” and an “attention seeker”.
