Former Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon recently took to Instagram to hilariously mock the droves of celebrities who have fled to Dubai to see in the new year.

Celebrities such as Love Island stars Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury were criticised for fleeing to the United Arab Emirates before Christmas alongside Maura Higgins and Chris Taylor to enjoy a holiday.

Additionally media personalities such as Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry and The Only Way Is Essex’s Amber Turner, Dan Edgar, Yazmin Oukhellou and James Lock also saw in the New Year in the far flung country.

The 25 year old took to Instagram to mock such celebrities, by taking photos of herself on a freezing beach in Fleetwood, Lancashire.

Snapping both the view of the January beach and herself wrapped up warm in a woolly hat and scarf.

She captioned the first shot, writing: "Can't believe I'm in Dubai for 2021 xxx" and then joked in the second one: "Look at this dubai sand”.

On the frosty looking selfie the actress then wrote: “HNY from Dubai X” as she held her hand in a peace sign and pouted.

However, the sarcastic nature of the images seemed to be lost on some of the young star’s 518k followers.

Later on she posted text to her Instagram Stories explaining that she was in fact joking.

The star wrote: “Just in case ppl didn’t realise, I’m not in Dubai. Turns out Fleetwood really does look like Dubai after all,” alongside a crying face emoji.

Lucy was intending to take aim at stars who have fled Tier 4 lockdown restrictions for the sunnier climate and open clubs, under the guise of 'business trips'.
