Katya Jones and Seann Walsh ‘to be booted off Strictly by lunchtime’
There’s been calls for Strictly Come Dancing bosses to dump Katya Jones and Seann Walsh from the show following their illicit kiss last week.
And the BBC’s own Nicky Campbell has queried if the pair will be "gone by lunchtime" following allegations from the comedian’s ex-girlfriend Rebecca Humphries.
The actress and travel writer, 32, accused Seann of being "controlling" and labelling her a "psycho" when she raised suspicions about his growing closeness to pro-dancer Katya.
Her fears were realised when she saw photos on Sunday of Katya and Seann kissing outside a London pub, which were taken on her birthday on October 3.
Nicky and his co-host Rachel Burden discussed the fallout of the scandal on 5 Live Breakfast this morning.
He acknowledged a cheating scandal had taken a sinister turn following Rebeca’s online essay alleging Seann’s behaviour during their five-year relationship.
He said: "People are saying this is classic bit of gaslighting. Those are her allegations.
"It’s difficult to Katya Jones and Seann Walsh. It’s difficult for Strictly, given what he is alleged to have said.
"I wonder if they will make it by lunchtime. I wonder if a line will not be drawn."
Nicky also alluded to reports the four judges, Shirley Ballas , Craig Revel Horwood, Dame Darcey Bussel and Bruno Tonioli don’t want the duo to stay.
Day 2: Strictly scandal
A source told The Sun: "The judges think it’s unfortunate and will be hard for them to continue."
But last night Walsh arrived at the show’s studios in Elstree, to continue rehearsing with Katya.
One BBC source insisted it was still “business as usual” when it came to them dancing together.
The pair were due to honour their planned appearance on It Takes Two this week.
But they pulled out of ITV’s daytime show Lorraine on Thursday – much to the annoyance of host Lorraine Kelly.
In Rebecca’s statement on Monday night, she admitted there had been other issues in her relationship with Seann.
She wrote: "Those pictures were taken on October 3rd. It was my birthday. I was alone at home when Sean texted at 10pm saying the two of them were going for one innocent drink.
"We spoke and I told him, not for the first time, that his actions over the past three weeks had led me to believe something inappropriate was going on.
"He aggressively, and repeatedly, called me a psycho / nuts / mental. As he has done countless times throughout our relationship when I’ve questioned his inappropriate, hurtful behaviour."
