Katie McGlynn says she’s still in the Strictly Come Dancing group chat after elimination

Katie McGlynn has revealed she is still in the Strictly Come Dancing group chat, despite being eliminated from the show earlier this month.

Former Coronation Street star Katie, 28, took part in this year's series as she was paired with professional dancer Gorka Marquez.

But, the star's time on the show was cut short as she became the second celebrity to be eliminated from the series.

Katie's final dance was the American Smooth, which she performed dressed as Cruella De Vil during the show's movie week.

Now, Katie has revealed she's very much still in touch with all the Strictly Come Dancing stars as she remains in the group chat with them all.

Speaking on the red carpet of the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain awards, Katie revealed: "I'm still in the group chat and I watch it every week anyway."

And, when asked if she has any predictions on who could win the show, Katie said: "It's so difficult, I think it's anyone's guess.

"Everyone is so good. I love watching them all."

It comes after Katie denied speculation of tension between herself and her dance partner Gorka during their time on the show.

During a question and answer session on her Instagram, held earlier this month, Katie was asked: "Are the rumours you 2 don't actually like each other doing your head in?"

Speaking in a video, Katie then insisted she and Gorka get on well.

She explained: "It doesn't do my head in at all. I just think it's funny as anyone who knows us knows we get on. We've got the same sense of humour, we literally just laugh all day."

Katie, who was juggling working on Hollyoaks alongside Strictly, added: "I’m pretty lucky because both shows are really considerate of one another.

"One day, I'll be filming for over 12 hours, but I’ll train for Strictly after that. Or the other way around."

And as the pair were eliminated from the series, Gorka thanked Katie for the fun times they shared rehearsing for their Strictly performances.

He wrote in an Instagram post: "You came to this show without any dance experience but you were willing to give your best to learn and improve everyday.

"You didn’t have the easiest ride but always came with a smile and giving 100% to everything I asked you to do in the rehearsals room, you always trusted me and believed in my work and for that, I thank you.

"Thanks for all the laughs and funny memories we shared over the last few weeks. If there was something we did all the time it was that…laughing."
