Kate Garraway heads to work after revealing she can't see husband in hospital
Kate Garraway arrived to work at Smooth Radio on Thursday as new coronavirus restrictions prevent her seeing husband Derek Draper in hospital as he battles coronavirus.
Derek was admitted to intensive care with the virus in March where he has been ever since.
The Good Morning Britain presenter has been trying to carry on with life as best as she can, focusing on their children William and Darcey.
She headed to present her programme at Global Radio in London, wrapped up against the bad weather in a black coat, black dress and white boots.
The TV star also wore a black facemask with a pink trim.
The mum-of-two carried two parcels, a suitcase and her handbag along with her.
It comes after she shared on Good Morning Britain that she has been unable to see Derek in the wake of the tighter lockdown restrictions in the UK.
The hospital where Derek is being treated have stopped loved ones from entering the premises amid a rise in cases.
‘We’re into lockdown, no visits at all, which I hope doesn’t continue for the whole of lockdown because I think that will be very impactful’ she said on the ITV programme.
‘Now, I don’t know whether it’s every hospital, but certainly where Derek is being treated there are now no visitors at all, which is tough.’

Kate explained that her visits were ‘infrequent’ and were in ‘very carefully controlled situations where you could get some sort of access’.
Darcey and William were able to see their dad over the Christmas period.
‘There was a lovely moment which we did have which was we did over the period get to see Derek and the children did, which was the first time they’ve been able to do that,’ she revealed.
‘So that was amazing. Of course, it was very heightened with emotion because he is very changed… I’m very grateful to have had that opportunity.’
