Jeremy Clarkson, 60, has been responding to his Twitter followers after the release of his new ITV show It’s Clarkson On TV. The Grand Tour presenter was drawn into defending the series as one viewer criticised the show for being anti-BBC.
Jeremy’s new show It’s Clarkson On TV had some mixed reactions from viewers when it aired last weekend.
The current affairs show airs on Saturday evenings and sees the outspoken star discussing television.
Following it airing, several viewers took to Twitter to discuss their opinions, which Jeremy could not help but respond to.
One follower wrote to the former Top Gear presenter: “I thought that @JeremyClarkson’s new show is a desperate swipe at the BBC.
“Very disappointed. Love him on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire but this one isn’t right for him.”
Jeremy then hit back at the claim, replying to the viewer: “It so isn’t.
“Check out what I said about the news reports from Yemen.”
The presenter was brutal about some BBC shows, describing Countryfile as having a “lack of ambition” as well as criticising budgets at the corporation.
However, as Jeremy mentioned, he ended the show by praising a report on BBC News on the crisis in Yemen.
He called Orla Guerin’s report “epic journalism” and “a nugget of pure genius”.
While this follower was critical of his approach, several others went to Jeremy’s defence.
A viewer wrote: “Personally I loved the new show. I loved your chat show you had around 1999 – 2000.

“You should do another chat show, be a refreshing change to Ross & Norton.”
“Loved it Jeremy, very funny”, another added.
A third penned: “I love Jeremy on Clarkson on tv. He’ll be good on celebrity googlebox (sic) as well.”
This is not the first time Jeremy has responded to viewers about the show this week.
One follower asked him to tone down the fake audience sounds in the new series.
He replied: “We couldn’t have a real audience. So annoying.”
However, the star then clarified how he “can ask and will for sure.”
The Top Gear star then tweeted: “It’s tricky for the editor when there’s no audience. I guess it’s like the football.”
It’s Clarkson On TV airs on Saturdays at 9.40pm on ITV.
