Halsey’s ‘Without Me’ video features a G-Eazy lookalike

Is Halsey‘s new music video another example of art imitating real life?

On Monday, the singer dropped the video for her single, “Without Me,” which appears to depict a toxic relationship and features a lookalike of former flame G-Eazy.

“The story is a reflection of a combination of relationships I’ve been in, or watched the people I love go through. It’s a reminder that you deserve more. And it’s okay to not want to be taken advantage of. By your partners, your friends, your family,” Halsey, 24, posted on Instagram.

After announcing her breakup with G-Eazy in July, Halsey and the 29-year-old rapper reconciled in August, later celebrating her birthday together in Italy. The couple also hit the red carpet at this month’s American Music Awards, shortly before calling it quits again.

“It’s over again for now,” an insider told People. “He was partying over the weekend and girls were all over him. He didn’t care who saw.”

Taking to Twitter on Oct. 24, Halsey tweeted a cryptic message amid reports of the split.

“@ me: life is not pain vs happiness. one does not replace the other. they exist together. happiness doesn’t arrive as a replacement. it arrives to assist u in carrying the weight of the pain,” she wrote.

But she made clear in her Instagram post she still believes in a happy ending for herself and for others.

“You deserve happiness. Don’t be afraid of going and finding it,” she shared. “As always, art is meant to be left to interpretation. If you see your story in this, I hope you hear me speaking to you loud and clear. All my love.”
