Grace Kaufman Lands Lead Role in Apple & A24′s ‘The Sky Is Everywhere’ Movie

Grace Kaufman has landed the lead role in the upcoming movie The Sky Is Everywhere, which will be made by Apple and A24.

The 18-year-old actress is best known for her work as Matt LeBlanc‘s daughter Kate Burns on the CBS sitcom Man with a Plan and this marks her most high-profile role to date.

The movie will be an adaptation of the YA novel by Jandy Nelson. The story “follows a teen as she works through the loss of her sister. Her journey includes accidentally falling in love,” according to Deadline.

Jandy is adapting her book and will write the screenplay. Josephine Decker, who previously helmed Shirley and Madeline’s Madeline, will direct the movie.

It has been said that the role was highly coveted and Grace beat out a “slow of actresses competing for the part.”
