Gogglebox’s Ellie Warner ‘taking break from show’ after boyfriend’s devastating car crash

Gogglebox stars Izzi and Ellie Warner are said to be taking a break from the Channel 4 show, following Ellie’s boyfriend Nat being involved in a car crash.

The 31 year old is said to be by her boyfriend Nat Eddleston’s side as he remains on life support after getting into a horrific car collision in Leeds on Friday night.

Nat was reported to have been out with his friends in a pub in Halton on the night of his accident before he was hit by a white Seat Leon just after midnight, leaving him with serious injuries.

An insider has claimed that the sisters, who joined Gogglebox in 2015, have been told they can “take all the time they need” away from the show as Nat recovers from his injuries.

A source told The Sun: "Channel 4 take duty of care really seriously.

"Obviously Ellie and Izzi are two of the most loved regulars on the show but it wouldn't be right for them to have to film a light hearted show when Nat is in such a critical condition.

"Producers have made it clear there is no pressure to return to filming and they can take all the time they need."

When approached by OK!, a spokesperson for Channel 4 declined to comment.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed the road in Halton, Leeds, was cordoned off on Saturday morning following the accident.

They told the Mirror: "The pedestrian remains in a critical but stable condition and inquiries are ongoing."

A family member, who did not want to be identified, previously told The Sun on Sunday about the accident: “Nat is in intensive care with a broken neck, broken back, two collapsed lungs and possible brain damage.

"He is on a life support machine and all the family and Ellie are obviously very worried for him.”

While a separate insider shared: "She has barely left the hospital since this happened and Nat is getting brilliant care and treatment.

"At the moment they are living hour by hour and just praying that things get better."

While Ellie, 31, is yet to speak out on the horrifying accident, it has not stopped fans flooding to her Instagram to share their support with the reality star.

The hairdresser posted a photo of Nat last month to mark Valentine’s Day and captioned the snap lovingly: “Happy Valentine’s Day to my one true loves.”

Fans have flocked to the post in light of Nat’s accident sending their love to the couple.

One wrote: “Sending you lots of love. I had the same injuries 30 years ago in an accident and although it’s a tough road he will get through it, I’m only saying this so you know people get through it. Sending lots of positive vibes to you xx”.

A second shared: “Sending healing thoughts for both you Ellie & Nat. Stay positive lovely.”

While a third penned: “Sending much love, and healing thoughts and prayers. Stay strong. Xxxx.”
