Gemma Collins ‘in secret talks to join West End cast of Chicago’

The Only Way is Essex star Gemma Collins, known as The GC, is said to be “in secret talks to join West End cast of Chicago”.

Gemma, 41, is rumoured to be joining the cast of Chicago The Musical replacing 80s singer Sinitta as the larger-than-life prison mistress Mama Morton.

The popular musical is touring the UK in 2022.

A source told The Sun: “Gemma has been in secret talks about playing Mama Morton for some time and is very excited about the opportunity.

“She has not signed anything yet as there are still issues to be ironed out with the agreement. But all being well, she will sign in the coming days.”

Gemma with her big and bubbly personality is said to be “a natural fit” for the huge role.

The theatre source went on: “Gemma is the ultimate TV diva. So who better to play Mama Morton — the Chicago prison mistress who rules the roost?

“She seemed a natural fit for the role. And as fans of Gemma will know, she has a fantastic voice.”

OK! has contacted a representative for Gemma for comment.

Gemma has risen to fame from her years on TOWIE and has gone on to appear in a number of reality shows since includingI'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! ,Celebrity Big BrotherandDancing On Ice.

Her TV career has boomed and she is already moving into theatre with her TV franchise Gemma Collins: Diva and heading on a seven-date UK tour next month.

The reality star was recently praised as "brave" for her "powerful" self-harm documentary.

She bravely discussed her 20-year battle with self-harm in her Channel 4 documentary Gemma Collins: Self-Harm and Me.

During the documentary, Gemma emotionally said: "Because I now want to go on and have a family and stuff, I suppose there’s that part of me… because you hear about people having postnatal depression and all these things. I don’t ever want it to come back. It’s scary. It’s very, very scary."

During a conversation with fiancé Rami Hawash, the reality star broke down in tears as she added: "In the back of my mind, because obviously we do want to go on to have a baby and stuff.

"I feel very happy with you and very settled with you, but always in the back of my mind, you think: 'Oh s**t, is it going to come back?!'"
