Gabrielle Union says she felt 'entitled' to infidelity during 'dysfunctional' first marriage, plus more news
Mutual cheating
Gabrielle Union wasn’t exactly “getting wife of the year awards” when she was married to then-NFL running back Chris Howard, she said on this week’s “Armchair Expert Podcast with Dax Shepard.” Dax had cited his regret over having been unfaithful to partners in the past, when Gabrielle revealed she actually “felt entitled” to see other people when she was married to Chris. “In our first marriage, neither one of us felt like the marriage should get in the way of our dating,” Gabrielle explained, (via Vibe). “A part of it was keeping up with his activities and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s what you’re doing? Oh, you’re gonna feel this one,'” she said, implying that Chris had extra-marital sex before she did. “I just felt entitled to it, as well,” Gabrielle continued. “I was paying all the bills. I was working my a** off and I felt like that’s what comes, the spoils of riches. Like my dad before me — whoever has the most gets to do whatever the hell they want — is what I thought. It was just dysfunctional from day one.” Elsewhere, the star said she was ultimately seeking “validation” at that time in her life.
“It was such a stupid relationship that should have never gotten out of the dating phase,” she concluded. Gabrielle and Chris divorced in 2006 after five years of marriage. She married Dwyane Wade in 2014.

Billie Eilish talks overcoming deep-seated body image issues
After struggling with her body image for years, Billie Eilish is finally starting to accept the skin she’s in. Now 21, the singer appears on Vogue’s new climate activism-focused video cover, where she opens up about how her relationship with her body has changed over time.
“Going through my teenage years of hating myself and all that stupid s***, a lot of it came from my anger toward my body, and how mad I was at how much pain it’s caused me, and how much I’ve lost because of things that happened to it,” says Billie, whose dream of becoming a professional dancer ended with a hip injury when she was 13. She also suffers from hypermobility, an often painful condition that can increase the risk of injury. “I felt like my body was gaslighting me for years,” she says. “I had to go through a process of being like, ‘My body is actually me. And it’s not out to get me.'”
That shift has already made its way into the Grammy winner’s music — “I’m in love with my future / can’t wait to meet her,” she sings on 2021’s “My Future” — but it’s been an uphill climb. Speaking to The Sunday Times earlier this year, Billie admitted her body image issues led her to disordered eating and other dangerous behavior when she was younger. “I only started wearing baggy clothes because of my body,” she told the outlet, describing her relationship with her body since age 11 as “a truly horrible, terrible thing.” Still, Billie added, “I love that my body is mine and that it’s with me everywhere I go. I kind of think of my body as my friend. My ugly friend! It’s complicated. But what are you gonna do?”

Kelly Osbourne seemingly reacts to mom Sharon confirming new baby’s name
On Tuesday (Jan. 3), Sharon Osbourne confirmed on “The Talk” that Kelly Osbourne has welcomed her first child — a boy named Sidney — with Slipknot musician Sid Wilson. The new mom is “doing so great,” Sharon gushed, adding that she’s “so proud” of her daughter, who “won’t let a picture go out” of the family’s newest addition. Kelly, however, seemed to be doing less than great on Wednesday, when she shared what read like a dig at her mom on Instagram.”I am not ready to share him with the world,” Kelly posted, according to Page Six. “It’s no one’s place but mine to share any information on my baby.”
In fact, both of Kelly’s parents have struggled to keep details about Kelly’s son under wraps. Back in October, Kelly said her dad, Ozzy Osbourne, had “f—— told everybody” she was having a boy “because he’s so excited” … even though she had yet to go public with news. “He did an interview today and I’m outside the door,” she told People at the time. “I’m like, ‘Dad, shut up!'”

James Cameron teases unexpected twist for ‘Avatar 3’
As “Avatar: The Way of the Water” continues to rake in major shares of the global box office, James Cameron is dropping new hints about what’s in store for the upcoming third installment of his wildly popular sci-fi franchise. In a new interview with France’s “20 Minutes,” the director says fans will see “different cultures” beyond those that have appeared in the first two movies, according to Total Film. He’s also planning some darker twists.
“The fire will be represented by the ‘Ash People.’ I want to show the Na’vi from another angle because, so far, I have only shown their good sides,” James explains. “In the early films, there are very negative human examples and very positive Na’vi examples. In ‘Avatar 3,’ we will do the opposite,” he adds. “We will also explore new worlds, while continuing the story of the main characters. I can say that the last parts will be the best. The others were an introduction, a way to set the table before serving the meal.”
“Avatar: The Way of the Water,” in theaters now, had earned $1.38 billion worldwide as of Jan. 1, Variety reported this week. “Avatar 3” is due out on Dec. 20, 2024.
Jeremy Renner thanks fans for ‘kind words’ while recovering from second surgery after snowplow accident
Jeremy Renner says he’s grateful for the support and healing vibes coming his way in the wake of his New Year’s Day snowplow accident. Sharing a photo from what looks like a hospital bed on Instagram on Tuesday (Jan. 3), the actor, 51, wrote, “Thank you all for your kind words. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.” According to CNN, the “Hawkeye” star has undergone two surgeries since he was airlifted to a hospital near his family’s home in Reno, Nevada, on Sunday after the accident.
At a press conference on Tuesday, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam said the actor had been using a 14,000-pound snowcat to clear snow from a driveway when the machine began rolling away. He was not in the driver’s seat when it started to move and was apparently trying to climb back in when it ran over him.
“Jeremy is making positive progress and is awake, talking and in good spirits,” Jeremy’s rep said in a statement late on Tuesday. “He remains in ICU in critical but stable condition. He is overwhelmed by the showing of love and support. The family asks for your continued thoughts while he heals with his close loved ones.”
