EMILY PRESCOT: Holly Willoughby’s ‘energy antibiotic’ crystals branded ‘poppycock’ by celebrity doctor Ginni Mansberg

Holly Willoughby has extolled the virtues of an ‘energy antibiotic’ malachite crystal on her lifestyle website Wylde Moon but it seems not everyone is sold on the power of gems. 

Celebrity doctor Ginni Mansberg tells me there is no scientific basis for the supposed powers of ‘poppycock’ crystals and says: ‘I get annoyed when brands peddle nonsense to play on our insecurities. Scientific evidence is the only way we know that something works.’

But having used healing crystals since she was seven, This Morning host Holly won’t be giving up, declaring on her website: ‘I genuinely couldn’t live without my crystals.’

Amid the furore over Harry’s book Spare, I can’t help but feel for the Princess of Wales’s cousin Lucy Middleton. 

As a senior lawyer for Penguin Random House, which published Harry’s tell-all book, I wonder how Lucy, who is godmother to Prince Louis, managed to keep the personal professional?

Family reunions often involve a tearful embrace or a glass of something nice.

But when action man Bear Grylls and his ‘long lost cousin’ the Marquess of Lorne met last week, they went for a dip in the freezing sea in Scotland.

Bear, 48, and the marquess – 18-year-old Archie Campbell – discovered they share Scottish ancestry. 

Of the icy swim, Bear tells me: ‘The first 90 seconds are always really hard – that’s when all the blood is draining out of your skin and that’s painful – but then beyond that, when you’re numb, it’s really an amazing zone.’ 

I’m not convinced…
